Saroyan House Project

In 2015 Saroyan’s house in Fresno was bought by the “Intellectual Renaissance” Foundation, which intends to turn it into a Saroyan house-museum. The foundation aims to reproduce the atmosphere of Saroyan’s house, so that each visitor can get to know Saroyan’s lifestyle.

After the reconstruction, the house-museum will become a center for Saroyan studies.

The museum will have a special cinema hall, which will screen documentaries about William Saroyan, as well as feature films based on his novels.

The foundation will also launch the saroyanhouse.com web site, which will contain information about Saroyan’s life, as well as the future activities of the Saroyan house-museum and the upcoming events. Through the website, the visitors will be able to take a virtual tour around the museum.

“One Armenian, One Article” Campaign

In March 2014 the “One Armenian, one article” campaign was launched. The aim of the project was to enrich Armenian Wikipedia with quality articles, engaging all the members of Armenian society and creating Armenian content that would match Armenian intellectual heritage.

Throughout the campaign, meetings were organized with scientists, writers, artists and actors to help them learn the wikiculture and have their contribution to the development of Armenian Wikipedia.

A number of foreign newspapers, such as BBC, The Guardian and News Week have also mentioned the campaign.

Due to the campaign, Armenian Wikipedia became known not only in, but also outside Armenia. There were a number of editors, who had joined the campaign and they continue working on the articles and sharing their knowledge up to now.
